Deputy Prime Minister Behgjet Pacolli meets the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves and receives a promise for recognition soon07.02.2013
As part of his lobbying activities to increase recognition of the Republic of Kosovo, the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Behgjet Pacolli, visited the state of Cape Verde.
Deputy Prime Minister Pacolli was received in a meeting by the Prime Minister of this country, Mr. José Maria Neves, with whom he discussed starting to build inter-state relations between the two countries.
Deputy Prime Minister Pacolli informed Prime Minister Neves about the democratic progress achieved in Kosovo, since the declaration of independence in 2008, as well as in particular, the process of Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, which is occurring with EU mediation.
According to Mr. Pacolli, the fact that Kosovo and Serbia are engaging in dialogue on normalizing relations, means accepting the new reality and starting a new phase of inter-neighborly relations in the Balkans region.
In this context, Mr. Pacolli asked the Cape Verde authorities to process formal recognition of the Republic of Kosovo.
Prime Minister Neves praised the commitment of the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo and promised that his state will very soon join the ranks of countries that have recognized Kosovo, following up with establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.
On this visit, Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Behgjet Pacolli, was accompanied by Mr. Berat Buzhala, who is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the Kosovo Assembly.
